Amarillo (the 15th largest city in the US) is considered the regional economic center for the Texas Panhandle as well as Eastern New Mexico and the Oklahoma Panhandle. Oil and Helium extraction lend the city to have a strong industrial economy...and where there is industry, there is T-Rex. Houston: Houston Texas is the home to T-Rex Services corporate office. Bobby began doing hydro excavation in Houston with one truck long before most people in Houston even knew what hydro excavation was. Since those days T-Rex has now gown to three offices in Texas (Houston, Dallas, and Midland) with a fleet of 15 trucks! In Houston alone we have hydro excavation trucks sporting both heavy duty hydro capabilities and smaller air knife trucks for the subsurface utility engineering market. T-Rex is pleased to announce our first office outside of Texas...Shreveport Louisiana! Much like our experience in West Texas, T-Rex did not so much choose Louisiana for hydro excavation and super sucker services as our clients told us we had to! Prolific natural gas drilling in the Haynesville Shale deposit has lead to a freenzy of drilling rigs that need to be cleaned and require our masssive 5000 CFM positive displacement blowers and heavy duty sludge pumps to move drilling mud out of storing vessels and into transport vehicles for recycling. In the drilling Industry our equipment are commanly known as super suckers. Our good friends in Austin and San Antonio have been good to T-Rex over the past 9 years and for that we are greateful. The ground conditions in both cities are tricky due to the limestone formations but its nothing we haven't been through time after time. Once again our equipment seperates us from the pack. T-Rex can easily utilize our Gap Vax trucks to out dig small trailer mounted rigs with limited digging capacity and range, thus lowering your overall job cost and speeding up you timeline. SUE is an engineering process that accurately identifies the quality of subsurface utility information - the data and techniques needed to effectively design and construct a project. T-Rex has worked with numerous engineering firms, city municipalities, and TXDOT to provide SUE service on some or all Quality level applications A through D. Air Knife Vacuum excavation

Some times hydro excavation is not the best way to go. Many competitors do either air excavation or hydro excavation exclusively. At T-Rex we are proud of our capability of doing both. In addition to our 12 Gap Vax hydro excavation trucks we also have a Vacmaster 4000 for when you need that special touch. The air truck has a much smaller blower so it's not quite as fast as hydro excavation and does not dig as deep. That said, it does dump dry so excavated material can be re-used for backfill which is particlarly helpful in cases of environmental remediation. Used in the proper setting the "air knife" can knock you a home run.

Trenching

Are you unsure where that utility line is located? Trenching is the most cost effective way to either clear an area or search for a utility line that's location is unknown. Slot trenches are usually 6 wide and up to 8' deep which allows for as little material to be removed as possible while still enabling us to see to the bottom of the trench. Similar to potholing, if a line is deeper than 8', the trench needs to get proportionally wider for the operator to see and function. As always, as little ground is removed as possible to save you time and money. Do you know more or less where that utility line is located? Potholing is the most common form of hydro excavation. It is the process of excavating a hole in order to locate a utility that's location is more or less known. Potholing allows for as little material as possible to be removed in order to verify the location and grade of the utility. These holes are generally small (as small as a 6 diameter) and can be back filled easily. For deeper holes, a wider diameter will be used to allow the operator to see and function.
